Rather than making a cool metal box with fans, they ought to be using hollowed out trees with a toilet and a microwave.
Computer cases haven't really changed what they do over the last 10 years. They hold your computer. So if CoolerMaster wants to take an already solid design and improve upon it, then my hat is off to them for innovation. What do you want, a car computer to match your car bed?
Granted its not a Transformer case of the past but its still a big obnoxious heap of plastic and steel in my opinion.
The fans too are getting a bit out of control. Unless you are running quad-SLI or something similarly ridiculous then there is really is no need for anything more than say 3-4 120mm fans max. Anything more is way past the point of diminishing returns.
While I generally agree that too many fans might not be necessary, it is always a good idea to measure and monitor the temperatures as you increase the amount of fans or change their speeds. Also consider how often your PC will collect dust :)
"The drive bays will needs some changes to accommodate the new "HDD cooling module with 120mm fan". The number and arrangement of 3.5" bays in the module is not yet known; it could remain six like in the existing Cosmos with a fan in front, or the fan could take up two of the existing HDD spots."
I doubt this is true. I have the Cosmos 1000 case, and there is a spot to install a 120mm fan above the 3.5" internal bays, at the bottom of the 5.25" external bays. A fan in this location draws air from a vent on the bottom of the case up past the hard drives and into the main bay. You lose one or two of the external bays to do this, but it does have plenty to start with.
I have a Cosmos case with a duct just for cooling the video card. I had to remove it as it wasn't cooling at all. Anybody have any luck with this ducting?
Considering that Coolermaster is not tipping their hand to anyone, you either get some wild speculation along with the announcement...or you get absolutely nothing. Nothing is rarely better than something.

it's just a very well received case, so they're making bank on it.oddlycalm - Saturday, November 22, 2008 - link
Not sure who the buyer is for a fancied up steel case with enough fans to fly off with the thing, but it's not me....Operandi - Sunday, November 23, 2008 - link

Reminds me of the segway marketing a few years ago. Typically, the more mystery buildup a product needs before launch, the more worthless it is.ricleo2 - Friday, November 21, 2008 - link

I am disappointed - I would have expected a real preview/review, not some wild speculationsHOOfan 1 - Friday, November 21, 2008 - link

B L O G post... News in form of a blog. Just because it was within the three on top doesn't make it a full grown review.
